Here’s a translation of Gabriella Papadakis comments about taking a pause in their career made in an interview with Eurosport and posted on Ouest France
Since taking a break after securing their Olympic title at the Beijing Games in 2022, the French duo has not yet made a decision regarding their return to the competition circuit. Gabriella Papadakis confirmed this information in an interview with Eurosport: “We have not yet made our decision.”
During the Grand Prix Espoo Grand Prix in Finland (Gabriella commented on the event), she mentioned, “I had a little underestimated the number of tours and galas we were going to do (laughs). But it was a great experience, very nice, to get out of my house a little, to wander around longer in the cities we pass through. The competition circuit is great but inevitably stressful and repetitive. So it’s good to get some fresh air and rest a little. Seeing other people, doing other things, clears the mind a little.”
In a conversation with Eurosport, Gabriella Papadakis also expressed that while there are aspects of competition she enjoys, taking a step back has been beneficial for her. “There are definitely aspects of the competition that I really like. For the other aspects, it’s not that I don’t miss it but, for me, it does me a lot of good to get out of it a little, to clear my head.”
