Choreographer explained why he likes the experiments in Kaori Sakamoto’s programs.
“What stood out to me the most from last season was Kaori Sakamoto’s short program. I watched it several times because it’s a highly unusual skating, a unique style for Kaori.
And she takes a dance theme and adapts it to herself. I really like how she experiments with her skating, with her program. It’s really cool, it’s unconventional.
You expect something else from this skater, but she presents something of her own, something so unique,” said choreographer Artem Fedorchenko.
In the past season, the Japanese skater won the World Figure Skating Championships. In the short program, she performed to the song “Rock with U,” and in the free skate, she performed to “Elastic Heart.”
