Valieva scored 241.76 points, losing to Adelia Petrosian (255.01). The third place was taken by Elizaveta Tuktamysheva (241.61).

Kamila Valieva: For the most part, I am satisfied with myself. I grew up, and a lot of things happened this year. What happened there (at the Beijing Olympics; Sport24) strengthened me dramatically. I suddenly became an adult. But thanks to the support of my coaches and the people I meet along the way, I remain resilient. I went into some kind of decline this season, but this does not mean that it will continue. It is impossible to constantly go up, but it encourages me to work further. I think in the next seasons it will be easier for me; I will work for it.

I would like to say… It will be strange… Thank you for such moments. It really strengthened me. I am calmer about such things now and have become more self-confident.

It’s tiring to see any news about and statement by this athlete. In fact, I have stopped watching her show since the news broke that she doped for her performance. Figure skating is no longer clean and beautiful to me when it is tainted by illegal drug-use. It bothers me that so far she has not shown any remorse for her doping.
