Eteri Tutberidze: Nobody has promised us an easy life.

Tatiana Tarasova: No. For as long as I’ve lived in the world, I’ve never seen anything like it. We were suspended once, but not like this. It has never been so hopeless. They have a direct line, they do not hear anything.

Eteri Tutberidze: Well, they teamed up. There is nothing better than being friends against someone.

Tatiana Tarasova: I still can’t understand. What such junior children did …

Eteri Tutberidze: I don’t understand at all why such suspensions.

Tatiana Tarasova: I wrote to them: “For what?”

Eteri Tutberidze: Sports life is short. Short.

Tatiana Tarasova: What did such little ones do who can win against everyone. They want the Russians to calm down a bit. But we are a restless people. We won’t let them…

And when they let us out, we will come back like animals. We’ll take everything.

Eteri Tutberidze: And how to if we are not allowed anywhere? Where to perform?

Tatiana Tarasova: How to motivate them, how to drag them along with you every day? To be better, to learn something new?

Eteri Tutberidze: Yes, yes.

Tatiana Tarasova: How? When they know that they won’t perform.

Eteri Tutberidze: Yes, for example Sonya Akatieva, probably, would have already been the world champion among juniors.

Tatiana Tarasova: Who?

Eteri Tutberidze: Well, Sonya.

Tatiana Tarasova: Sonya, yes!

Eteri Tutberidze: So what? And she is nobody. No title, nothing. We are not promised tomorrow. My athletes need it here and now. We may not have tomorrow.

Tatiana Tarasova: No, maybe not. There may be no tomorrow, and what it will be is also unknown. All the same, I believe in such our idiocy, when we will be back we will tear everyone apart.

About Sofia Akatieva’s injury

Eteri Tutberidze: Sonya Akatieva has not yet recovered. While I was away, they collided and he leg was cut severely.

Tatiana Tarasova: I know, strongly. There are specific exercises.

Eteri Tutberidze: She was already in shape, she was already jumping Axel, Salchow, toe loop. And now everything is from scratch.

Tatiana Tarasova: Well, that is, the injury has healed?

Eteri Tutberidze: Yes, but now we need to develop. She’s back, but she’s taking care of herself. I say: wait, why are you taking care of yourself? It’s, thank God, not a joint, not a ligament, just a cut. So, come on.

About weight

Tatiana Tarasova: Heavy, of course, the first months of work. While you look at them, how much they have gained.

Eteri Tutberidze: They all also come like… I don’t know. You know, I always say that one gram of fat is one gram of laziness.

Tatiana Tarasova: Lazy. Lane, of course.

Eteri Tutberidze: How many they have gained, that’s how lazy they are.

Tatiana Tarasova: Of course, weight is laziness. You have to force yourself to get up, go, run.

This interview is like a 17th century script. What mentality…

  2. MB says:

The question is, are the same standards applied to everyone? High ranking US politician Nancy Pelosi is currently planning to hurt the territorial sovereignty of China by invading China to travel to Taipei. Are all US athletes gonna be banned once that happens?

  3. Guwin says:

Why don’t the two trainers ask the Kremlin whether Putin will stop the war and whether your army will leave Ukraine? I think from that point you can think about when we will all be back to normal again.

  4. MB says:

Why aren’t Ukrainian skaters banned too? Why haven’t they been banned since 2014, since the Ukrainian government is going to war against Donbass? If athletes representing a country that kills civilians should be banned, there would be no argument to not ban skaters from Ukraine. Ukraine bombing cities in the Donbass region kills civilians every day.

  5. No war says:

Do you mean war in Iraq justifies the war in Ukraine? Two wrongs make it right?? War in Ukraine is real, Russia is the aggressor.

  6. Veronica says:

All I can say is do not believe what the mainstream media says. They lie to the people. This so called “war” is a screen way beyond to our understanding. Sadly, is hurting Russian people.

  7. Václav Sedláček says:

The troll is you here. No arguments, only labelling others who do not fullfill your criteria of stupid opinion.

For me, the criminal acts were the attacks on Serbia, Iraq in 2003, Libya, Syria, all those military acts killed hundreds of thousands of civilians altogether, mostly left those countries destroyed, deserted, in Libya there is a continuous civil war since, congrats to “democratic west” for those achievements.
Let’s not be stupid and blind.

  8. No war says:

Laura sounds like a typical Russian troll. Repeating the typical Russian propaganda. Go and pray for your criminal boss.

I just want to say I know what is happening here in the US, and I am aware of how we meddled in Ukraine in 2014 with the Coup d’etat of the Ukrainian president, and all the meddling since then. Why? To take over Russia and destroy their culture, their religion, all that they are, and to take over Russian resources, the oil, the gas, the grains, etc. Unfortunately, the US controls Europe and the West and the IOC and wants to create hatred of Russian people. That includes the figure skaters, the ice dancer, the opera singers, the musicians, everyone! It is Evil Central Bankers that own the West. They are the only ones who have the unlimited money and power to do this. PRAY, PRAY PRAY that GOD will help us all, before something horrible happens!

  10. Louise Grou says:

It’s all about politics. If you have Watched the News you know that Russia has invaded and destroyed most of Ukraine under fallacious reasons. Vika and Nikita are wonderfull ice dancers but they have been ill advised When they joinged other skaters in wearing the infamous Z on their jacket and singing alongside Poutine. May be the other Russian skaters are being forbidden to participate in international events for that reason…

I am an American, been an American all my life, but I hate the power that the US has over the European countries. It is awful. The US Media lies about Ukraine, about Russians, about everything, even about the vaccines here. So much, so awful. I want you to know how much sadness I feel for all of you. My favorite ice dancers are Vika & Nikita and started watching them in 2014. They were amazing, and such chemistry. At least they got their Olympic Silver, but the bias towards the French couple was wrong, and it was apparent, SO apparent EXCEPT the one time the Russian pair beat them. Hallelujah. Keep praying that GOD will come down hard on all the evil people perpetrating this One World Government they lust after.
