How should a skater’s mother behave? After all, it takes so much effort and time, but there are only three places.

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: Understand that this is primarily your child’s life, not yours. In fact, I’m not an adviser here, because I have not been in your situation …

As a child, did you go to training with pleasure or did your parents force you to?

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: There were different moments. It is impossible always go to training with enthusiasm. If sometimes you don’t what to, that’s okay. The main thing is that this does not become a problem.

But my parents never forced me. Mom always said: if you don’t want to go to training, let’s study. And I immediately ran to training, it was fun there

What was the most difficult performance in your career?

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: Oh, it’s hard to say, because the feelings are forgotten and it seems that it was not so bad. The most difficult competition that I remember now – this year’s Nationals.

Should an athlete follow every instruction from a coach?

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: If we are talking about senior skaters, I think not, because they know themselves better … Of course, you need to trust your coach and listen to him, but if it seems to you that something is going wrong, this should be discussed.

What should athletes do when a coach asks them to do something they don’t want to do?

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: It’s not about wanting, it’s about what needs to be done. If you want to be a good athlete, you have to do it because you trust your coach. If you don’t trust, that’s another problem.

How do you cope with anxiety?

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: Competitive experience and understanding that you do all this primarily for yourself, and not for others, helps to cope with anxiety. Therefore, it is important to enjoy the event, and not be afraid of it.
