Alexei Zheleznyakov: When you first appear in a project as a pair skater, you won’t show serious elements. Twists and throws are difficult elements. As a choreographer, I’ll say from personal experience that Alena is suitable for pair skating. She isn’t tall.
If Kostornaia tries hard, then everything will work out! But this takes years. Single and pair skating are two completely different things. The difficulty of pair skating is that a person takes responsibility for a partner. This is a collaborative effort.
The youth is now stepping on the toes. The competition is tough in women’s single skating. Of course, Alena understands this. Let her try to develop in pair skating. When doing pairs, you can skate for a long time. The main thing is that the injuries do not knock you down.
For example, Sasha Smirnov and Yuko Kawaguchi; Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov; and other pairs. Let her try. I wish Alena only good luck.
