Elena Radionova: “Trusova was completely different, so free. We used to see Sasha in a slightly different style, but this program reveals her from the female side.”
Elena Radionova about Alexandra Trusova’s new short program.
Bronze medalist of the 2015 World Figure Skating Championships Elena Radionova shared her opinion about Alexandra Trusova’s new short program.
Trusova performs to I Put A Spell On You by Annie Lennox.
What do you think about Alexandra Trusova’s short?
Elena Radionova: I really liked it, she was completely different in it, so free. We used to see Sasha in a slightly different style, but here she was so free, mature. This program reveals her from the female side. It seems to me that she also enjoys what she skates.
Unfortunately, Alexandra withdrew from the free program. Do you think a back injury will prevent her from starting the season?
Elena Radionova: The athlete feels when he needs to stop or continue. This is Sasha’s decision. In any case, we are all looking forward to her performances. She has so many fans who will always be happy to see her on the ice.

Blues composition and Sasha – how do you like this combination?
Elena Radionova: I liked Sasha in combination with the blues, she revealed herself in this program in a new way. Trusova has turned into a young woman, and in this program she looked very relaxed. Now she looks different on the ice: mature, conscious, feminine. It seems to me that she enjoys her program.
There is a feeling that the new short is too simple for Trusova. Such a figure skater deserves more interesting artistic images, more interesting musical solutions. Don’t you think so?
Elena Radionova: I don’t agree. I liked the musical choice. The song is quite popular and sounds good. It happens that the simplest things look much better than something complex and intricate.
And the most important thing is performance. Sometimes you can take the most banal idea and make a masterpiece out of it, as Tatiana Anatolievna Tarasova says.
