Loena Hendrickx: I have no words, I am very happy. All my hard work has paid off. Standing here with a silver medal is incredible and I’m proud to be able to do it for myself and for Belgium.
It was very difficult for me before the World Championships because of severe pain (in the groin area), but I wanted to show that I could overcome it in order to have the powerfull ending of the season.
I didn’t want to be pressured because I know I couldn’t train the way I wanted to. I was happy just to be at the competitions, but, of course, I wanted to show the maximum, because otherwise I would not even came here. Something inside told me, “You can do it.” I’m so proud of myself that I didn’t give up and did what I came for.
