Elizaveta Tuktamysheva: I feel support, how they cheer for me, worry. I see it. I would not say that the attitude has changed somehow dramatically, but I don’t want to think about it. I want to think how to make the program even better, how I can improve the results further. Therefore, I try to be calm about what everyone is saying.
I will not say that I have become some kind of symbol of women’s skating, this is a very loud statement. I always tried to overcome myself and go against the established rules. For me it was always interesting if there are young girls, and there are fewer and fewer mature figure skaters. This means that I have to skate, I will show that it is possible, I feel the strength in myself.
I cannot take responsibility and say that I am a symbol of women’s skating. There are also other skater who are over 20. They also skate beautifully. It is important just to treat what you are doing with all your heart and soul.
It’s cool, it’s great that for 10 years now I have been going to the Grand Prix, to major international competitions, stand on a podium. This is a reminder to myself that Liza Tuktamysheva is not such an ordinary girl, she won’t just leave.
