Ilia Averbukh called the results of Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin deserved. He also shared his opinion that statements of the journalists (including American ones) is a desire to become famous at the expense of Russian figure skaters.

Davis and Smolkin became the winners of the Warsaw Cup. They scored total 199.90 points.
Ilia Averbukh: This season, Davis and Smolkin are showing good readiness, they got very good scores at the Grand Prix, they are contenders for the third spot to the Olympic Games. The statements of journalists are aimed only at telling the world about themselves using our athletes. Such statements have no basis. It should be noted that Diana and Gleb made a huge step forward this season. They have prepared an interesting program, a new rhythm dance, they are improving from competitions to competitions. Therefore, the judges’ marks are deserved, but each competition has its own base mark, so it makes no sense to compare scores from competitions that are quite different in status.
