Daniil Gleikhengauz: The vacation in Mexico turned out to be very fruitful. There I came up with a huge amount of music and some ideas. Let’s start with a short program for Sasha Trusova – “Frida”. I came with this idea and music at the training camp, then I have not yet chosen who will skate it.

I said: I feel, I see that it will be interesting and good – whom? Eteri Georgievna said: give it to Sasha. I was even surprised at first: Sasha? She: well, she haven’t done such, let’s try – there will be either fire, like her hair, or not.

We started to work, and it went straight away. She has matured, this is not that little Sasha, this is an adult girl. This is Spain in the artistic image, choreography, passion, experiences, artistic component with drawing, betrayal. And it seems to me that she conveys all these feelings very well. For her, this is a breakthrough.

We were not completely attached to Frida herself, because she is a very complex person and she had an interesting life. But we used the art and the transfer of all this, Sasha feels it – it can be seen from her that she understood, felt and skates with pleasure.
