Fedor Klimov announced about his retirement.

Fedor: On Wednesday I was at the Federation and wrote an official statement addressed to the president of the skating Federation that I decided to finish my sports career.

Why? Because the pair Ksenia Stolbova – Fedor Klimov no longer exists. This was our mutual decision. The reasons are different for each of us. At the moment I don’t continue sports activities, but I keep the right to return to figure skating after a while, if such desire appears.

As for the plans, recently I have tried myself in different directions. Of course, they are connected with figure skating. I continue to work with Nina Mozer in her projects. I try myself in coaching, I take part in different seminars, master classes. As I said, all this is connected with figure skating. In addition, I graduated from the university with a degree in sports management. I try everything, I try to find myself. I don’t want my education to be useless.

Of course, there is a feeling of regret, but I don’t think that it would be better for me now to continue my sports career the way it was in recent seasons. Ksenia ans I thanked each other, hugged each other, said goodbye. I am grateful to her for a long time that we have trained, skated together. We had successes, we had failures. There were many moments of gooad and bad. And it’s good that we had it. I am grateful to Ksenia that we have gone through all of this. I tried to part on a good note.

Of course, it is not easy for any athlete to finish a career. For me it was a serious and difficult step, but I decided not to deceive anyone and myself first of all.

  1. Piece of work says:

I can’t remember if it was on Twitter, or where, but I read comments in late summer or fall from Ksenia where she said she had injured herself, her leg I think, right before Worlds. She said she never heard from Klimov after that. He didn’t call or visit to see how she was doing, even once. I don’t know them personally, but going by that, they didn’t part on good terms.

Such a shame, loved to see them skate. All the best to Fedor!

What other punishments does God have in store for me this year???

Jokes aside, I will miss him. They were the pair that got me interested in skating. I am happy to hear things ended on good terms though. At least that’s what he says.

No matter what really happened between these two, Fedor acted with dignity. Only positive words about Ksenia and the words of gratitude.

That is true. He is always very polite in the interviews, and he honestly seemed to respect her as a partner even though they had nothing in common.

Fedor, you’re a retired man now, you have free time for a girlfriend. Call me?
