Short comment from Olympic Champion Aliona Savchenko:

If I didn’t believe in what I was doing, I wouldn’t do it. We built our team exactly in order to achieve the goal, although I still can’t believe that it has been achieved. I knew that I wouldn’t give up. This is the essence of my character – fight to the end. You never know what can happen in sports, but you can always fight to the end. I fought.

About first starting number:

I even thought that it was a great position to attack. And I’m glad that we did it. However, I absolutely can’t explain what happened to me at the end of the program, when we stopped. Maybe mу legs went from under me when I fell on the ice. But I do not remember that. I remember only a colossal sense of relief that we did everything.
