Alexandra Trusova, the 2022 Olympic silver medalist, spoke about what sport means to her. In January, the figure skater announced her return to competition after a long break and giving birth. Here’s a translation.

“For me, elite sport is about pushing the boundaries of human potential. To understand what you are capable of. To find your limits.

I love this sport. I love these sensations. I love doing what I do,” Trusova posted on social media.

Trusova also spoke about her progress in regaining difficult jumps. Currently, the figure skater is performing in Eteri Tutberidze’s ice show.

“We’ve already completed three cities on the tour. As for achievements: during the tour, I restored my triple axel – I definitely consider that a victory. I even landed it in front of an audience. So far, only in the finale, but there’s more to come.

I managed to land a (quad) lutz once in my program, though with a small mistake. I’ll keep working to perform it well in the program; for now, it’s going well only in the finale and in practice, and I’ve landed it just once in the program. But that’s okay, I only recently got it back,” Trusova said.

Trusova is like an astronaut of women’s figure skating. I love her and I want to see her competing internationally.
