Swiss figure skater Kimmy Repond is entering a new chapter in her career, one without her sister and longtime coach, Jeromie Repond, by her side. In an emotional Instagram post, Kimmy expressed heartfelt gratitude to her sister, who has been her main coach for several years but will now transition to a new career as a psychotherapist, which will take her away from the rink.
“Thank you Jeromie!
Around 11 years ago we had our first training session together. A few years later you became my coach and started coming with me to almost every competition. My first junior worlds, my first Grand Prix, Europeans, Worlds and we even made it to the Olympic Games together!! I am so proud of us and what we achieved together over the years. You have been there for me in every moment, all the ups and all the difficult times, and I am so thankful for that
I will miss you so much at competitions and also I will miss all the dumb jokes we always made before competing, to try to get rid of the nervousness. Even tho I’m very sad you won’t be my coach anymore, I can’t wait to see you thrive as a psychotherapist!
