Tatiana Tarasova called the International Skating Union (ISU) scoundrels for not allowing Russian figure skaters to participate in the World Championships. Here’s a translation of her comments.
“Q: What is your view on the ISU’s position?
Tatiana Tarasova: They are scoundrels. Real scoundrels! We have not only Petr (Gumennik) and Adeliia (Petrosian), but also other talented athletes. It’s clear that no one will let us compete at the World Championships. But there are other competitions, and there is next year.
The federation’s leadership is at the Olympic Games — for what purpose? I think it’s so our team can be allowed to compete. Both Sikharulidze and Kogan are there. It’s a pity if they can’t reach an agreement with anyone.”
