Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova confirmed she will attend the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics, reflecting on her personal growth and nostalgic memories since her victory at the 2022 Beijing Games. Here’s a translation of her comments.
“I’ll be there for a long time. The whole trip will take about ten days. I originally joined the ‘Ice Age’ project knowing that this trip was coming, so now we’re filming performances on a tight schedule.
I’ll get to see figure skating, hockey, short track. I’ll catch the men’s free skate, the women’s short program – a bit of everything.
After our Olympics, I was left with an incredible number of memories. But I probably didn’t fully experience the Olympics, because there were no spectators in the stands. This time, I’ll soak up the atmosphere,” Shcherbakova said.
2022 Olympic champion Anna Shcherbakova believes she has changed greatly in the four years since the Beijing Games.
“Q: In February, it will be four years since your Olympic victory. How have you changed during this time?
Anna Shcherbakova: I think saying I’ve changed is an understatement. I’ve really grown up a lot over these four years. I’m almost a different person now. I’ve definitely matured and changed. I look back on that time with nostalgia and excitement.
Q: Do you have warm memories of that period?
Anna Shcherbakova: The memories are absolutely vivid and varied. But all of them bring a sense of nostalgia and excitement.”
