German pair skater Minerva Fabienne Hase, after winning silver at the European Championships with Nikita Volodin, expressed motivation to use the next three weeks before the Olympics to show their full potential. Here’s a translation.

“Of course, we’re not completely satisfied with today’s performance – I think that was obvious to everyone.

But I’m glad we fought until the end. We didn’t give up and held on until the last minute of the program. It wasn’t the performance we had hoped for, but we still managed to save the silver medal – and that’s nice, something to be pleased with.

Now, I think we have a lot of motivation and energy to get back to training. We want to use these three weeks before the Olympics to show our full potential – the way we really can.

After the final pose, it was a very emotional moment for us. When I finished the program, I thought: I can still enjoy this moment, because I feel like the audience experienced it with us. I’m very grateful to the audience for the motivation and energy they gave us today.

The support was incredible: we were warmly received, applauded, and supported, even though we didn’t show our best skate. We really appreciate it,” said Hase, as reported by Sports correspondent Maya Bagryantseva.
