Nina Pinzarrone finished 2nd after the short program at the European Championships. Here’s a translation of her comments posted on Sporza.

“I put my medal next to my bed to dream about it a little. I’m proud I was able to show this on Wednesday after everything that’s happened in recent months,” Nina told.

Pinzarrone has struggled with injuries. “I was already super happy just to be here and feel that adrenaline. It had been a long time since I’d done such a big competition, and it’s really different from the Belgian Championships.”

“I think I’ll be less stressed on Friday (day of the free skate),” she adds, “but this 2nd place doesn’t really change anything for me. I always just do my best.”

“It really went well,” agrees coach Ansje Bocklandt. “Nina needs to keep that positive feeling, because it’s not over yet.We were relieved after the tough period. She needed this and did well. She already has that small medal, and no one can take that away. That’s a nice bonus. Her confidence has gotten a boost, and that will help in the free skate.”
