Scoring 133.04 points in the free dance the duo climbed two spots to win at the Grand Prix de France. Here’s a translation of their comments posted in Franceinfo.

“We really enjoyed ourselves and poured our hearts into the performance. It’s the kind of program you wish would never end. We’re very happy,” Laurence Fournier Beaudry said after their winning performance.

While not focused on their scores, the duo admitted they were pleasantly surprised by the judges’ total score – an achievement that left their coach, Romain Haguenauer, jumping for joy. “When we perform well, when we make no technical mistakes, we leave the ice feeling satisfied. After that, the scores are out of our control,” explained Fournier Beaudry.

“This program is truly well-refined, and it resonates deeply with us. Every movement has been carefully considered, which gives us the freedom to let go and fully immerse ourselves in the performance, transcending the technical aspects,” said Guillaume Cizeron.

Their rhythm dance, performed the day before to Vogue by Madonna, earned the duo third place after a strong performance marred by a slip by Guillaume Cizeron during a choreographic step sequence. The pair revealed that they had to revise the program in September and are aware of the work needed to perfect it. “We’ll focus on refining it further and making it truly ours,” Cizeron said, aware of the potential to widen their advantage over competitors.
