Mone Chiba, aiming for a spot on the national team at the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in February, has reverted to her short program from last season, “Last Dance,” a piece that propelled her to 3rd place at the World Championships.
Earlier this month, Chiba competed in a domestic competition where she skated to an orchestral version of “Sakura Sakura” but finished in 6th place – a result she found disappointing.
“My condition wasn’t bad, which makes this outcome all the more frustrating,” she reflected.
“Last Dance” was a key part of Chiba’s success last season, where she achieved a personal best score of 73.44 points in the short program at the March World Championships.
