On June 21st, the skating federation concluded that Lee Haein’s actions constituted ‘sexual harassment’. Subsequently, they imposed a three-year suspension, which included behavior of drinking during training periods. The accuser was C, a minor and fellow figure skater (17).
Haein Lee’s father also commented to Dispatch on the situation. Here’s a translation of his comment.
“My daughter… is thinking about hanging up her skates. I feel the same. We don’t have the strength to fight anymore. But…” the father of Haein Lee commented.
According to Dispatch, considering the prime age for figure skating, a three-year suspension is akin to a death sentence. Lee Haein is 20 years old this year.
Lee Haein’s father expressed a strong desire to correct just one thing – the label of ‘sexual harassment.’
“She is only twenty years old. Figure skating was her whole life, but her life will not fall apart. However, they say my daughter is a sexual harasser. She can’t live like that. I want to fix it.”
