“I’m so happy, it’s a wonderful end to a challenging season for me. I was so disappointed with the first half of the season because I wasn’t able to show what I’m capable of. So I’m proud of myself and my coaches – we did a great work as a team. This medal is priceless for me.
I’m thrilled that the American team has three spots again for the next season, although I tried not to think about it. Everything depended on complicated calculations, so I preferred not to get involved – I needed to go out and do my job on the ice cleanly.
I went into the skate with a lot of doubts – I know that I’m physically well-prepared, and I skate this program easily in training. But the six-minute warmup was very nerve-wracking, and that worried me a lot. But I’m happy that I was able to overcome the nerves.
