Here’s a translation of Shoma Uno’s comments about Japanese Nationals from the article posted on Sports Graphic Number Web.
“Japanese Nationals is the most nerve-wkacking competition,” said Shoma. “I may not have delivered the best performance, but I truly felt like a veteran, being able to accurately assess and handle the situation, even when I wasn’t in the best condition.”
Reflecting on his jpurney Shoma Uno said, “I keenly feel the long years of participating in Japanese Nationals. I’ve witnessed various histories, and the current young generation and seniors have seen many different things. Nevertheless, these Nationals remains special. Achieving six victories in this rapidly changing and competitive field of figure skating, and maintaining consistent results for such a long period, fills me with great joy.
I’ve experienced many Nationals, but I think this one, with the wonderful performances by everyone, has been exceptional. Despite experiencing many Nationals, this one stands out as truly remarkable.”
As for his free program to “Time lapse/Spiegel im Spiegel”, Uno also mentioned “In the past, there used to be a climax in the latter part of the program, but with its absence, the music has taken on a more challenging form.”
