Here’s a translation of Alexandra Trusova’s comments about her performance at the Olympics.

Evgenia Medvedeva: Commenting on an interview in “Daring Cooking”: “I don’t want to offend Sasha in any way, but it was strange when she said that she had no mistakes at the Olympics. Although she fell on the triple axel, and the quad toe loop did not have a clean landing. She had an underrotation on the double axel – triple toe loop combination, and had a small mistake on the spin. It’s strange that she didn’t acknowledge these mistakes.”

What, in your understanding, constitutes a mistake? Did you ever say such a thing?

Alexandra Trusova: I said that I believe I did everything I could. I also said that I still don’t understand about the axel, and at that moment, I didn’t understand why I fell. I always fall because I’m very nervous, and at that moment, I wasn’t nervous at all.

And we talked more about the free program. The technical content of the program I skated at the Olympics is stronger than the program of the Olympic champion in men’s skating. This is a fact. And the Olympic champion in men’s skating also made a mistake.

Yes, I did a step-out, but I just put my foot down – didn’t touch with my hands, didn’t lean. I just stepped over. I can’t say that someone skated perfectly cleanly at that time. Everyone leans a little somewhere… Yes, there are perfect performances, I don’t deny that.

But at the Olympics, it didn’t happen. No one had a perfect performance.

Yes, that’s what I think. I need to give an example of a perfect performance: where no one made any mistakes at all, perfectly clean. After all, we are not robots,” the figure skater said in an interview on Evgenia Medvedeva’s YouTube channel.
