Here’s translation of Elizaveta’s comment about an amusing incident from her touring experience with an ice show:
“Funny things happen during such performances – it’s not uncommon. During one of our recent shows in Japan, we went out for the opening number in costumes provided by the organizers.
We had been performing for two weeks already. During one of the shows, Javi (Javier Fernandez) and I were doing a side-by-side triple toe loop. I had thin straps on my costume, and one of them came loose. It was pure panic! I thought, ‘That’s it!’ And we still had to skate and dance.
I somehow managed to finish the performance. When it came time for the bow, we were supposed to hold hands, but Javi kindly held onto that strap for me so I could take a bow without worrying about the costume issues.”
