Here’s the translation of Shoma’s comments posted on Sports Graphic Number Web.

“I have been able to achieve better results than I had expected in these past two years. I’m truly satisfied with the results. However, I am not satisfied with my own performances. The reason for this is that the programs have become too focused on jumps. I have been thinking about what I can find fulfilling in skating and what can make me satisfied. As a result, I have decided that I want to focus on my artistic expression going forward,” said Uno.

Talking about this season’s short program to “I Love You Kung Fu” choreographed by his coach Stephane Lambiel, Shoma said “Stefan’s choreography is always very challenging. He chooses choreography and music that I find a bit difficult but it helps me grow. This year is no different, but compared to previous years, my strengths have been emphasized, and I believe I can show a higher quality short program than usual.”

As for the free program to “Time lapse/Spiegel im Spiegel” choreographed by Kenji Miyamoto. Uno recalls his first impression of the music, saying, “When I heard it for the first time, I was like, ‘Oh no…’ It’s a song with no intonation, and it offers a wide range for interpretation.”

“Mr. Miyamoto usually creates programs that naturally fit my body from the beginning. However, this year’s free program is more challenging, focusing on expression right up until the moment I jump. I’m practicing every day with the intention of using up my energy in the first half. Throughout the entire season, I want to create a free program that moves me.”
