Today, a member of the ISU Executive Council, announced that the question of allowing Russians might be discussed at the International Skating Union meeting.
“Do I believe in a positive outcome, or is it difficult to imagine at the moment? I think it is realistic because many international federations have already started allowing Russian athletes. But what are the conditions?
Each federation handles it differently. How acceptable will the conditions be for us? Because without us, they have been bored for two years, nobody watches, and they lose money. It is quite possible, but the question is, what will the conditions be?
The IOC cannot demand; the IOC can propose, but each federation makes its own decisions.
Do I believe that in the next season we will be able to see Russian figure skaters at international competitions? Well, I believe that we can see them as early as this autumn.” Rodnina said
