Kaori Sakamoto: In the first half of the season, I could not manage to cope with the short program, so I was a little nervous. But I practiced a lot in order to show here everything that I could. And I left all of myself on the ice today.
Last year at the World Championships, it was more difficult for me. I was not in the best shape, leaving all my strength at the Olympics. And this year, yes, I am the reigning world champion, but I don’t look at it from that angle.
I keep in mind the last World Championship in Saitama, four years ago, and remember the disappointment from that performance. Therefore, today I am here to rewrite a page of my history here again.
