‘This is the most reasonable thing that could be done now’ Tarasova, Averbukh and others about Medvedeva returning to Tutberidze
Tatiana Tarasova, Innа Goncharenko, Ilia Averbuk and Alexander Zhulin commented on Evgenia Medvedeva’s decision to return to Eteri Tutberidze.
Tatiana Tarasova: Congratulations to two great women on the right solution to this issue.
I’m very glad. I think this is the only right decision. And happy that they came to it.
Inna Goncharenko: If this is reliable information, it makes sense, given the talks about raising the age limit. Girls start to look to the future, and it does not exist without the past. Zhenya had succeeded with Eteri Tutberidze, so it is quite logical that, having assessed the situation, she decided to return to the place where she was successful. I can only wish her good luck.
The only question is in the decision of Eteri Georgievna. Whether she’s psychologically and morally able to understand and accept this. This is a difficult process, you need to give everything you have. The Japanese mentality, the coach-student relationship does not suit us, everyone is interested in the result, we live in a time of change.
Athletes who have reached a serious level, I would like to wish to understand that this is the merit of the coaches who put their work into them. Yes, times change, but coaches during Zhenya’s childhood did not work for self-interest. Therefore, you need to understand where you are and where things that were invested in you. And, depending on it, how far you can move on.
Ilia Averbukh: This is humanly very right. Evgenia returns to the person who led her to all the outstanding results. I wish good luck in this collaboration to both Eteri and Zhenya. It seems to me that this is the most reasonable thing that could be done now.
Alexander Zhulin: Finally! I am very happy with this news, I fully support it. This is the only right decision that could happen now. It’s good that Eteri Georgievna went through with this. I think this is the only correct path for Evgenia Medvedeva, because this is the coach and the athlete who should work together. I think Zhenya will have a step forward in the results.

PS: But the beauty of prgramms like the Geisha is over – irretrievably lost!
Eteri is a great coach but there is one fault of her:
she has obviously a loss of feeling for real good and outstanding choreographies.
Do we hope so. It was a very tight bond between Eteri and Jewgenia. On both sites were made faults, but I think a child that is used to trust a coach/ Eteri, a child, that loved her deeply is deeply hurted, when she had the feeling to be betrayed. Eteri was all for her. Even though- a deep love resist many and will remain in the one or another kind. I f Eteri had feeling to this child earlier too- and it seems so- then also some remained. A coaching is only successful, when the pupil has the heart of the coach- otherwise not. We will see. I an cautiously optimistic. I wish all the very best.
I hope the very best for both.
