Eteri Tutberidze about Polina Tsurskaya.

According to Eteri Tutberidze Polina Tsurskaya has a genetic disease:

Tsurskaya was repeatedly taken to Germany, had surgery, but she has genetic predispositions that rarely occur. If you know such diseases as exostosis … When the bones grow in one place, and just fall off in another place. This is a rare genetic thing, she has it from her father. This time, she came to the World Championships with a very serious diagnosis. But she wants to skate, we will do everything that can be done.

The girl with a difficult health, with a huge talent for skating, but difficult health. We and the skating federation are trying to support her health, and while she has at least some chance to skate, has a desire, we will be doing it. – Eteri said

Interesting that Polina’s mom deny Eteri’s statement about genetic disease:

The current Polina’s trauma is a lumbar hernia. Before that, she had a ligament rupture, then a König disease, in which the genetic predisposition is not the the main reason. She has no other illnesses and her father has no genetic diseases. Now she trains and is determined to continue her career. – Natalia Tsurskaya said

So what’s going on? Eteri tries to explain bad results ad injuries with genetic disease or Polina’s mother tries to present the situation in a more positive way?

Anyway I wish Polina to recover as soon as possible and be healthy. She’s an incredible talent and it would be a shame to lose such talent even before she becomes age eligible to perform in seniours.
