Maxim Trankov: Sui and Han should have broken our record long ago

Wenjing Sui and Cong Han broke Volosozhar/Trankov’s record in the free program that lasted since 2013. Maxim Trankov gave a comment:

For me, this result did not come as a surprise. They skate well, and they should have done it long ago. I think it’s unlikely that other pairs will reach our record (in the free program), not to mention the result of the Chinese. I always said that they are the main contenders for Olympic gold. They are the current World Champions. This pair has consistent skating and they are the only pair in the world who is in harmony with choreography and technique.

For Fedor and Ksenia, second place at this competitions is a good result. They need to gain shape for the Olympic Games, to fight for medals there. Second place is not a loss, but a victory for them now. The season started very hard, but they are almost in the Grand Prix Final. But they still need to improve, to be consistent at all other competitions, to show the judges what they are capable of. – Maxim said.
