It is difficult to prepare. Our last competitions were eight months ago. I even forgot what we usually do between practice and competitions, today tried to remind. It’s hard after the break, but here ice and audience helped and we also helped ourselves. – Fedor said
We have been skating only for four weeks. Of course, it was hard. We showed today what we could. There’s still time before the European Championships and main competitions, I’m sure we’ll get the optimal shape and will skate better than before. – Ksenia said
It was my dream to skate to the “Moonlight”. Perhaps we have matured enough. In the discussion I suggested this music and nobody objected. We haven’t skated to classics yet. Everyone was for it, and when we started to choreograph realized that yes, we have matured and that it is “ours”. – Ksenia said

There were a lot of mistakes. Maybe not quite obvious and serious, but they were. We showed what we could at the moment. It is not enough, of course, but at the moment it is normal. Our goal and task for the Russian Nationals was to skate two programs, we coped with it, and to qualify for the European Championships and Worlds, we also managed it, so everything is ok. – Klimov said
We are dissatisfied. Everything turned out just with mistakes. We were ready to skate the program, but not with those elements that we can and able to do now. Just not much time has passed since the recovery. – added Stolbova.

The style is similar to last year’s free program, but the story is quite different. I understand that in such style no one does anything, so we decided to continue it. The story of a man who has lost the meaning of life – said Klimov.

I love Ksenia and Fedor, I really do. They’ve been one of my favorite pairs since 2014 when I first started watching, and they never disappoint me.
Their short program is beautiful. It’s odd for me to see a softer side to Ksenia, particularly after last season’s programs. But I think she looks beautiful in lyrical programs. Fedor looks like a gentleman from an old British drama – dapper and tasteful.
The free program is a little unusual, and I’m still getting used to it. Alexander Zhulin would be proud :) I think it suits Ksenia perfectly; she’s dark and intense, and maybe a little crazy. Her skating skills are amazing, and the program shows it off. But I think it’s a VERY hard program for Fedor to skate, because he is not so emotional on the ice, and when you’re playing someone crazy, you have to look like you’re completely out of your mind. I think he tries his best, but she is so bold that sometimes I think she should skate with Max Trankov.
Just a note on their free skate costumes – Fedor’s looks suspiciously like Eric Radford’s short program costume. And Ksenia’s…I have to say she’s one of the few girls in this sport who can really wear a black unitard (again, are they copying Meagan?). I think Meagan’s sleeveless unitard looks great because it shows off her toned arms, but for Ksenia I want long sleeves, because she has such pretty lines and needs to show them. And maybe less sheer fabric on her chest…I know, I sound like an old lady…
Overall I’m really happy they’re back, and even though they weren’t perfect, it was a good start for them. I can’t wait to see them at Europeans and Worlds. I wonder what Aliona Savchenko is thinking right now…

As far as Zhulin – I meant the “madness” aspect of it.
I think a black unitard would be perfect for Ksenia, but not the one they chose. Maybe they thought the nude fabric would get them higher scores??? haha but the point is, they need to tweak the costumes. Also I’d like to see something a bit more feminine.
I like their style a lot.
