Kirill Khaliavin will represent Spain
After Russian Nationals were a lot of rumours that pair Ksenia Monko / Kirill Khaliavin is no longer exists. There were no official announcements that they finish their career. But today appeared the Protocol of Meetings of the Presidium of the Figure Skating Federation of Moscow and one of the questions on the agenda was “consider the issuing of permit for Kirill Khaliavin to move to the jurisdiction of Spain”.
According to paragraph 4 of this Protocol “Transfers of athletes – members of the Moscow team” Kirill got the permission:
“To allow Kirill Khaliavin “Moskvich” (coaches Zhulin, Volkov) to continue his sports career in Spain.”
So, this season we’ll see a new pair Sara Hurtado / Kirill Khaliavin? Interesting who’ll be their coach.
Good luck to Kiril! His career in Russia can’t be called sucessful, they always lacked something to make a breakthrough. Hope to see him at least in more interesting and sophisticated programs. He’s a great partner and deserves a chance to show himself.
The sporting pair Monko / Khaliavin is not longer exists, but in real life they still a couple. So, it was a joint, deliberate decision. Wish all the best for the guys.
Plus according to this Protocol, Russian Figure skating federation allowed the moving of 14 Russian athletes, to the
the jurisdiction of the foreign federations. Among them:
- Nikol Gosviani – Italy
- Elizaveta Ushenko – Israel
- Moris Kvitelashvili – Georgia
- Diana Devis – Georgia
