On June 23, on International Olympic Day, ISU posted on social networks photos of Olympic champions in figure skating: the French Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron (ice dance), the Chinese Wenjing Sui and Cong Han (pairs) and the American Nathan Chen (men’s skating).

Instead of the winner of the 2022 Games in women’s single skating, Anna Shcherbakova, a photo of Japanese Kaori Sakamoto, who took third place, was published.

Honorary President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Alexander Zhukov: This is some kind of stupidity. Do they want to say that Shcherbakova is not an Olympic champion, or what? Stupidity. By such actions, they devalue only themselves, nothing else.

It’s just obvious that our skaters are the strongest in the world. Even if they do not allow them to compete and try to rewrite history, this only harms figure skating.

Alexander Zhulin: I think it’s all mean and petty. You can replace her with anyone, but the essence does not change. Anna is a brilliant figure skater and Olympic champion.

They do everything in order to prick the Russian team and, in principle, Russia. This applies to both the external situation and sports. This is the act of weak people.

Ilia Averbukh: This, of course, is the pinnacle of stupidity, I can’t call it anything else. The contribution of Soviet and Russian figure skating to the world of figure skating, including the formation of the ISU is hige.

It is huge, and the glory of figure skating, its history is largely connected with Russian names, for more than 50 years. I can’t call it anything else but stupidity and an indicator of weakness.

Anna Schernakova: I am 18 years old, and I gave 15 of them to figure skating. I believe that everyone is equal in sports.

Since the recent ISU post, I have received many kind messages from people around the world. Thank you! This means that sport still unites.

Your ignorance of what happened in Ukraine is evident. In 2014, the US performed a Coup d’etat on their government, ousted the elected President. Then, Victoria Nuland put in the US puppet Yatsenyuk who continued to bomb their own people in East Ukraine. We started this whole mess, becauses we wanted to get control of Ukraine and put NATO missiles on the border of Russia.

Remember, the USA did not want missiles pointing at America inside Cuba when the Soviet Union wanted to do so. Russia is no longer the Soviet Union. It is their history. It is ironic that the USA has become the country that “invades” the Middle East and kills so many people, including maiming its own soldiers. All for what? Control of oil. Control of the heroine production in Afghanistan, etc. Don’t blame Russia. The real fault lies with us–the USA and the Central Bankers who control the military and our economy!

An athlete has no power to decide what their country does or doesn’t do politically or militarily. The ISU is just being punitive and acting as a US PUPPET. It is beneath contempt what the US has done, and they are the ONLY ONES (besides the UK) that are responsible for the mistreatment of Russian athletes.

The formation of the OLYMPICS has always had the basic understanding that it is non-political, but that has changed. If we ban certain countries, then these competitive events no longer mean anything. It is no longer the “World’s or Olympic’s” anymore. The American skaters Hubbell & Donohue who won Silver at the World’s this year were invalid imo, since the Russian Ice Dancers Sinitsina & Katsalapov were eliminated and would have won Silver. No doubt about it.

Russia has quite a history of cheating; they were actually on probation for previous doping at the time of the Valieva scandal. Why don’t they worry a little more about cleaning up their reputation as dopers? It’s a slap in the face to all those athletes who compete without cheating by using drugs? Yes, the Russian skaters are wonderful, and they deserve better than they are getting from their federation and their government!!
