Ilia Averbukh: It’s an era of Evgenia Medvedeva

No one takes WTT seriously except team Japan and Evgenia Medvedeva. Probably that’s why she’s setting new records)

Some comments from my favorite experts who always have something to say – Tatiana Tarasova and Ilia Averbukh (twhat a pity, Bestemianova is not interestet in singles) :)

Well done, Zhenya, the whole season she only improves. She improves  all the time. World records don’t stand still. While she increases them. In the pre-Olympic year, she increases the not only a technical gap, but also a psychological. This is a very important thing. They are doing everuthing right with her coach. She improves, being the world champion. She is the world record holder, not just the champion, and improves her records. – Tarasova said.

Everything is understandable. Recently has been the main start, the World Championships, and Zhenya won it brilliantly. Now nothing is pressing on her, she has no pressure of responsibility, she’s skating for fun. She has a golden age, when she is in good physical shape and mentally feels like a champion. That’s great! The era of Medvedeva is absolute now.

But now everyone is thinking not about this competition, but about what will happen in the next (Olympic season). All coach’s thoughts and my as a choreographer are about it. World Team Trophy is a less prestigious tournament. Now the judges throws maximum scores without looking back. After all, at the beginning of the season the judges hold a bit the marks, and now it is simply a statement that now in women’s figure skating it’s an era of Evgenia Medvedeva. – Averbukh said.
