In 2018, the two-time world champion moved from Russia to Canada to train with Brian Orser.

“After the 2018 Olympics, I decided to change coaches. In my opinion, the most worthy coach to switch to from my current one was in Canada.

So, I moved. I mean, I was really not the only one – not the only one anymore; it’s a well-known practice now. But at that time, I was the first prominent athlete who just, you know, went abroad.

I went through a lot. Oh my God, oh my God! I mean, I was still competing for the country, for Russia. But ‘traitor,’ ‘you scum,’ ‘washed-up’… And it went on for many years. About a year and a half or two of intense hate. They kept at it, all of that…

Now, it’s not like that because I’m not at the international arena anymore, and I’m not competing anymore. I’m older now, thank God. I became more confident after that, and it still helps me to this day,” said Medvedeva.

Jewgenia, you had with Brian your best programms. The best performance ever was the Geisha. I watch it very often. And the show “experience” with the red fether. Never reached again by anyone else. Suuuper!
    Let the idiots go.
