Gabriella Papadakis: I admit that the absence of Russians at the World Championships is something special. They lost a lot of trust from other skaters because of the situation in Ukraine and doping. They are given the stink eye, and there is less tension without them.

Right now we are planning to just relax. We don’t know if we want to end our career. This is a big decision, we don’t want to make it too fast and make the wrong choice.

Sorry Christina but what did Anna do? She was the best behaved of the three girls. She handled herself with grace and class unlike her teammates.

With GOLD and SILVER Olympic medals out of the competition Bronze medal became “World Champion”, … well deserved!. Al other female skaters, in their mediocrity, remained fighting each other for the rests of the cake.

It’s a really hard time for Russian athlets in general. They need to change their long time image. The endless doping situation (why don’t they stop!!!) and now this war. I really enjoyed the Japanese athlets, so soft on the ice and how they feel music and programs.

Ooooohhhh, the magnificent skating is not a guarantee of good manners. The standarts of the Olympic Charter and Sport clearly, honestly and directly declare any independence of any level sports events and athletes from the politics world. High level sport athletes, to whom Mademoiselle Papadakis belongs, must follow these laws both in word and deed. Athletes don’t make politics and everyone on the globe knows about it. And in such a tone to talk about her colleagues in sport….This is indeed regrettable to make sure once again that the concept of etiquette is not always familiar even to the newly appeared champion.

How would Gabriel know about weapons. She is not a politician. What she spoke about was her experience and what she experienced was less tension. It was easy to see just observing the skating portions of the Olympics the heightened tension Russia brought to the games.

I totally agree w/Gabriella. As a fan, I think we all need a break from the Russians. I really enjoyed watching the Worlds this year! The Russian ladies turned the Olympics into a crap show. The end of the competition was embarrassing to watch!! What a mess!! I hope they don’t come back any time soon! They can’t be trusted.
