Evgenia Medvedeva: Now figure skating has jumped forward a lot. Although it would seem, three years ago we still watched such guys as Nathan Chen and Yuzuru Hanyu, who did quadruple elements. Someone made a quadruple lutz—oh my god, how did he do it? Over the next 10 years, there will definitely not be anyone more unique.

At the same time, at the recent World Championships, Ilia Malinin did a quadruple axel but did not win. Question, right? Is it worth thinking about the dream jump, and is it a panacea and the key to a gold medal? Apparently not.

Personally, I don’t have such a jump; I already performed all my dream jumps when I skated. I want to remind you that I have not been competing for three years, and so far I am not going to participate in them, but so far I feel good and comfortable in the show.

There were not dream jumps, but those that, if I wanted to win further, I had to learn, such high-status ones. Not to say that I was delighted with the fact that I needed to learn the quadruple salchow, because both age and opportunities did not quite allow me: for health reasons and other various reasons.

But I had a dream jump, I guess. I wanted to perform some kind of combination with a loop at competitions. I did this several times: salchow – loop; everyone saw it. I will immodestly say that I did it very beautifully.

At the moment, I don’t have a dream jump. I hope that other guys who are winning now still have them and that they will continue to move figure skating forward.
