Evgeni Plushenko: “I want to make my academy the best – not only in Russia, but also in the world.”
Evgeni Plushenko about opening of a skating rink for his academy in the Moscow region.
Evgeni Plushenko: We have built an ice rink, this is a full-fledged school, full-size ice, places for physical training, choreography classes, food, accommodation. Free accommodation for talented children.
It was my dream when I skated in St. Petersburg and spent a lot of time on public transport. I had to practice, then go to school, after school back to training – I was wasting a lot of energy for that.
With Yana (Rudkovskaya – ed.) we make my dream come true. Yes, indeed, we have built a school on our land. Professional athletes will skate there, but also we are giving a social story: children will skate for free, training for beginners.
It will be possible to live there, on the territory. Alexandra Trusova and Alena Kostornaia, who train with me, will live in special cottages, all conditions have been created for them. Talented children also have such option.
There will be a special nutrition for athletes – healthy food.
I need results, I want to make my academy the best – not only in Russia, but also in the world. Yes, it takes time. If I set a goal, I always go to it. I think everything will work out.
I don’t know if there is such a thing in the world, in the country: autistic children skate in my academy for free, we have a special group. From what I see, such kids can even compete in special Olympics.
