Evgeni Plushenko: We agreed to cooperate with my friend and outstanding coach – maestro Rafael Arutyunyan. I hope our collaboration in the new season will bring a lot of things that we lacked in the current one.

Rafael Arutyunyan: I’m on vacation now, only on Tuesday I flew to Moscow from Tbilisi and was pleasantly surprised that Zhenya Plushenko called me and invited me to his skating rink. He said that he really wanted to talk to me. This is not any kind of cooperation yet, but I accepted an invitation to Plushenko’s rink with pleasure.
Arutyunyan noted that over the past 20 years of his work, not a single Russian coach has invited him to his trainings.
Rafael Arutyunyan: I was really surprised, firstly, by the very fact of being invited from a person who has absolutely incredible sporting achievements, and secondly, by Evgeny’s desire to get some new coaching knowledge. All the time that we spent at the rink, he constantly asked questions, was interested in my opinion on some of his training ideas, and I saw that he was really interested. It was a very fruitful and dense coaching chat. In short, I’m impressed.
Rafael Arutyunyan: Now everyone is discussing my potential cooperation with Evgeni Plushenko, so I would like to clarify: 20 years in America taught me that it is legitimate to talk about any kind of cooperation when agreements have been reached with all interested parties and papers are signed. So far we have discussed the outline of a possible joint work only in words. But I really hope that this joint project will be implemented. Such cooperation can open up great prospects.
Evgeni Plushenko: We have not officially entered into any agreements, but we have an agreement on joint work.
Together with Arutyunyan, we have come up with many forms of such cooperation, but I am not ready to voice any agreements now, because I understand that a pandemic can destroy any of our plans at any time.
When all decisions are agreed and formalized, I will definitely tell about it. The main thing is that our intentions are mutual, and we will try very hard to implement all our ideas.

Same here – nice to see smart, gentlemanly gesture without serious commitment at this point given there is only months to go for 2022 Olympics. I want Nathan to have that gold medal around his neck so that he can go back to Yale and go on with his life feeling happy and fulfilled.
Love Nathan. Get some rest for few weeks but please stay away from Yale until after your Olympics so you can get that gold. Remember bar bell or dumb bells for legs not so much arms so have power for as many quads as need to get Oly gold. Love Raef too. Please stay together
Thank you for clarifying the matter ! I had only heard incoherent bribes of this on social media.
