Elena Buyanova told that at the moment, in working with the 2020 European champion Alena Kostornaia, she is only concerned about the health of the figure skater.

In March, Kostornaia parted with coach Eteri Tutberidze and moved to CSKA to Buyanova. In August, the coach and the athlete should decide on the continuation of cooperation on an ongoing basis.

Elena Buyanova: Talented people are very difficult in the training process, so I, as a coach, need time to understand Alena. While we are a new group for her, which gives her a new breath, everything here is new for her. And then a routine will begin where everything becomes clear – both the readiness of the athlete and the ability of the coach to work with the athlete. We have not yet reached this routine for various reasons, but I can say for sure: at the moment, only one thing worries me – Alena’s health. I worry only about it and really want her health to be enough for work. This is the only way we can achieve real results.

You need to understand, Alena and I started our work not so long ago, and this work has enough various nuances, and we are already being tormented by questions about whether we will continue to work together. Moreover, some articles are published from fragments of phrases. Firstly, we are both ready for the joint training process, Alena has already been choreographed new short and free programs. Choreographer – Olga Orlova (performed in ice dance for Russia and France, worked with Tatiana Tarasova, Nikolai Morozov and other specialists).

Alena is an insanely talented figure skater who is still far from realizing her potential. It would be very sad if she ends her career without trying to restart it. Of course, she made a lot of mistakes and it’s pointless to delve into it. The main thing is that she draws conclusions.

This is really concerning times for Aliona, with Eteri herself is not even in Russia and her skaters are over relaxing all over the place. Buyanova worries about her health? She means her arms or her overall health? Most likely Russia will still be banned for at least one season. Let her rest longer maybe a wise move. Tutberidze girls probably return home from vacation with excess fat anyway.

Buyanova sounds very wise, she seems to understand and present things the right way.
