European champion Dmitri Aliev admitted that it was difficult for him to keep motivation after being suspended from international competitions.
Dmitri Aliev: Feeling great. I am very glad that so many people came to support the St. Petersburg team (speaks about test skates of St.Petersburg team). It’s very nice, because every day you train in an empty arena. This should contribute to the feeling of a season starting for the athletes.
How was the skate? It seems that everything worked out. I did not do difficult spins, as usual, this was planed. Just a few days ago, in training, I unsuccessfully jerked my leg and was on the verge of not performing here.
Is there a lot of unusual choreography in the program? We worked on it with a dancer who creates numbers for dance shows.
What is the motivation for the season? At first it was very hard. You can take a separate interview with each athlete about how to save it. Very hard. I tried to cope by immersing myself in the working process. Now the plans are to prepare for the test skates of the national team and the Russian Grand Prix. Why is there no stage in St. Petersburg? Good question. We have many arenas, it would be great. It seems to me that this would not be a problem for the city.
