Daniel Grassl left the group of Eteri Tutberidze because of violation of anti-doping regulations by missing three doping tests
Italian figure skater Daniel Grassl has left the group of Eteri Tutberidze bacause of anti-doping regulations.
This information comes from “R-Sport,” citing several unrelated sources. Earlier, the athlete announced that he had left the coaching group of Eteri Tutberidze, where he had been training since January, and returned to Italy.
According to the agency’s report, Grassl missed three doping tests.
One source notes that the most likely cause was a technical error – the skater indicated to the anti-doping authorities that he would be in Italy while he was actually training in Moscow. As a result, doping officers attempted to collect a sample at an Italian address while he was in Russia.
Grassl is the silver medalist of the 2022 European Figure Skating Championships in the men’s singles category.
