This is stated in the WADA statement registered in CAS against Valieva and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).

WADA also expects that the results of the figure skater, shown on December 25, 2021, will be canceled.

“WADA seeks a ruling from CAS that the Athlete committed an ADRV pursuant to Article 4.1 and/or 4.2
of the RUSADA ADR, and that the Athlete be sanctioned with a four-year period of ineligibility starting
on the date on which the CAS award enters into force, as well as the disqualification of all competitive
results obtained by her from, and including the date of 25 December 2021, with all resulting
consequences (including forfeiture of medals, points and prizes).” says the statement of appeal filled by WADA

In February 2022, during the Beijing Olympics, it became known that Valieva was tested positive for trimetazidine, while the sample itself was taken in December at the Russian Nationals. During this period, she also managed to perform at the European Championships.

At the Beijing Games, Russian figure skaters, including Valieva, won the Olympic team event, but the award did not take place due to the start of an investigation.

RUSADA, in turn, reported that it would not publicly announce the verdict on this case, since Valieva is a protected person – at the time of taking the sample, she was 15 years old.

I feel terrible for underaged athletes because they rarely made the decision to cheat themselves but this must be done to stress to sports federations that they cannot exploit their athletes this way!

So sad! They destroyed her career, her mental health…and she is the only one so far being punished. But, what about the adults who supposedly were guiding her career?
