Evgeni Plushenko: Friends, congratulation with the holiday of Spring and Labor! In the meantime, we have news! I want to share with you. So, with the wonderful Sasha Trusova, we have gone through a very fruitful season! We won 2 stages of the Russian Cup, the bronze of the Russian Nationals and World Championships. It was a difficult season for all of us!

On May 1, our contract ended, and by mutual desire of the two sides, we did not renew it. We let Sasha go back and hope that all the promises given to her by the “old-new” school will be fulfilled in the future. Only God our all-knowing haters and respected experts know how her sports career will develop in the future. Our team @ angelsofplushenko will not guess, but simply wish her victories, since she deserves them, being a very purposeful and hardworking athlete! Under the terms of our agreement, we do not disclose the reasons for patring, maybe sometime after years, but definitely not now.

Of course we remain friends. In the future we hope to see her more than once on our shows and on a visit. As practice shows, life is a long-distance race, and this is just the beginning. Alexandra leaves us on a white horse, with a bronze medal of the World Championships around her neck and with a decent bank account, as well as with a 5 quadruple jumps restored after the pandemic! Hopefully in the future she will not have to give humiliating remorseful interviews on tv. This is certainly not the case. Where she returns, she goes by numerous invitations and without a trial period, and in the status of one of the strongest single skaters in the world!

PS We ask the respected press not to violate the personal space of both sides, we definitely do not give comments. In fact this post was written for this. We continue to work further, without loud promises, on the result with our athletes and coaches. See you next season, I’m sure, you will have what to talk about. Always yours, Evgeni Plushenko.

LOS DOS EQUIPOS SON BUENOS. Trusova ya debe pensar en ser entrenadora y no competidora. Es tiempo de nuevas patinadoras.

The young ladies from Russia competing for their homeland are among the most well-mannered, polite, kind and gracious I’ve ever seen. Their parents have done a wonderful job training and raising them. I haven’t seen all the champions from Russia but Alina and Evgenia, Anna, Kamila, Aljona, and Sasha are absolutely a wonderful credit to the Russian nation, your culture, your work ethic, your willingness to seek and to do what is in the best interests of your children. You have become the envy of the world for what you have helped these ladies to achieve and to be. They reflect wonderful role models. They not only are brilliant on the ice, they are lovely and good and kind on the insides. They are truly remarkable and they are shining a light on the strength and the integrity of the Russian people. It’s true and the whole world is impressed, amazed, and hoping to incorporate the lessons they are learning from you. They could be known merely as the greatest skaters of this era, but they are much, much more than that. Every country needs to emulate your example. And, they will. Everyone loves these wonderful young ladies from Russia. They, you, are becoming a sensation.

On 1st April the director of Sambo 70 said that Trusova dad promised him that she will return. And everyone kind of called him crazy and the news a joke, especially being on April 1st =)) But indeed he was telling the truth

  4. Michelle Martinez says:

it really bothers me so much because Eteri now has a monopoly in the sport now. Every girl that left returned. It’s so strange and now we will have 6 girls in one rink fighting for a spot at the olympics

    • FS Gossips says:

And now she has a pair, and who knows maybe her daughter will go to the Olympics in ice dance. She’s much closer to the ultimate monopoly then we may thinks.

  5. Renate says:

I think: All it is in the athlete imself. To think, that this or another a coach can bring the victories is a big mistake. She has now little better scating skills, but the time is to short for developing for the Olypics. Eteri has other girls. If Kostornaja is stable in the 3A she scates better, Waliewa and Sherbakowa- this will be the olympic team. Trussowa – maybe, if Kostronaja does not reaxc her goals. The programms with Plushi were much better. Gleichengaus has too muc programms. Theay are all uniform.

  6. John Abreu says:

Plushenko polite? I don’t think so. Somebody -an image maker- wrote that for him. What a character!
Trusova? She is one of the best. We all love her as much as any other girl on Tutberidze team. However, our love for Anna is infinite!

  7. ioanykie says:

At least Plushenko seems to be really polite about it. I was quite surprised to be honest…

  8. SkatingFanCa says:

Wow! Totally unexpected! I feel sorry for Plushenko and I wish Trusova has made the right decision and best of the luck!

  9. Catherine says:

I thought it was a good pairing for Sasha with Plushenko. What happened at Worlds sealed her return to Eteri in my view. Especially the fact that Liza came second above her.

  10. Eeb says:

What news were on 1st April? I cant find it anywhere :(

  11. mark from toronto says:

Well Anna gets a spot for Olympics, the rest the girls can fight it out for the other 2 spots.

  12. Andreea says:

I really really believed Trusova will stay with Plushenko. I cannot believe it didn’t happen so. Guess the news on 1st April were true :(
I root fot her, but it’s worrying how many talented girls are in Tutberidze team now – at least 6…
