Ksenia Stolbova about their performance in the short program at Grand Prix Final 2017 and Olympics:

Except for my serious mistake, we skated solid. The elements were good, we improved our twist. It’s not that scary to look at it now. All other elements wele level four. I did the best I could to save that throw. And we jumped well.

As for the fall Ksenia said:

We landed the twist well, but we were very close to the board. I did a sharp turn and my blade flew off on a stroke.

As for the topic of the participation of Russian athletes in the Olympics-2018, Ksenia addressed all journalists and said:

I better get this said, it will be better if you leave us alone and let us calmly prepare for the Olympics. Because two nights in a row, from 3 o’clock till 6 am we couldn’t have rest,  they have been calling us all the time.

Leave us alone, without any unnecessary questions. We will prepare for the Olympics. We will go there under the white flag. And we will defend our Motherland. We are not orphans. We have a huge great country. These matter and topic are closed.

Why are Russians always stating how great and mighty Russia is? It’s a sign of deep insecurity, not confidence. Great and mighty people/countries don’t have the need to go around declaring it.

Personally I don’t see anything wrong in being proud of your country.

Do you think Americans, Canadians or Chinese feel insecure as well when they talk about their country being the best place in the world?
      It’s a cultural thing, I guess.

Right on. Don’t take it personal. Keep believing in yourself and be proud!
