The French skaters Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron are setting out in search of Olympic medal. The duo shares their thoughts just days before the opening ceremony. Here’s a translation of her comments posted on L’Equipe.
“Guillaume: We’re very happy to be here. We’ve had a wonderful year, so it’s truly a pleasure to be here. A year ago, we had just started skating together. We’ve come a long way, and it feels a bit unreal to be here right now, but we’re trying to make the most of it and stay very focused on what we have to do.
Laurence: It’s very special because I think, in our partnership, we’re quite similar. So I can’t say that one of us motivates the other more. I think we both train to motivate each other, and that’s what allows us to be here today.
Guillaume: We both have the same level of “crazy,” of “craziness,” of madness.
Laurence: Yes, we do it together.”
