As reported by “Match TV”, the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) has definitively decided which country representatives will be recommended for participation in the qualifying competitions for the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy in three out of four disciplines.

According to a source from “Match TV”, FFKR plans are to name Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin for the ice dance Olympic qualification competitions, Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Galliamov for the pairs competition, and Adelia Petrosian for the women’s singles skating. All the mentioned athletes won in their categories at the December Russian Nationals held in Omsk.

The decision on the Russian male candidate for the qualifying competition will be made based on the results of the Russian Grand Prix Final in Krasnoyarsk.

The nominations of the Russian skaters must be approved by the International Skating Union (ISU).

In December last year, the ISU Council decided to allow athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in a neutral status in the qualification for the 2026 Olympics in Italy. The qualifying competitions will take place from September 17 to 21, 2025, in Beijing.

  1. Yes, Kamila, at the moment, is still serving out her 4 year ban, but, the ban will end right before the start of the 2026 Olympics, still making them a possibility for her, though fairly unlikely, considering how much work and preparation would be needed to present a decent program. Still, I wouldn’t have put it past her, but I think Adelia will do fine.

    Kamila is still banned.

  3. Skates says:

Does anybody know, what about the reserves? Have the reserves been nominated yet?

    • FS Gossips says:

No, I’ve only seen that they want to submit an extended list of candidates for neutral status to have more options to choose from closer to the qualifier.

  4. Ah well, I was hoping to see Kamila comeback, but I do agree with their selection of Adelia Petrosian. She is probably the best shot they have
