Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara, who finished second at the the Grand Prix Final commented on her performance. Here’s a translation of their comments posted on Nikkansports.

After the performance in the free skate, Kihara critically assessed their routine, saying, “To be frank, the content was at an unacceptable level.”

“Even though there were major mistakes in the free skate, we received a lot of additional points for our lifts, so I think that was good,” said Riku Miura.

“The parts where we wanted to gain additional points, we were able to secure them well, so I think it shows that the efforts we put in since the NHK Trophy were reflected in the scores, which is good,” added Ryuichi Kihara.

When answering the question of the journalist which feeling was stronger the relief at completing the GP series or the frustration at not being able to perform as well as they would have liked, aKihara said, “There were no injuries that caused us to withdraw from the competition, so that was good. I think it was really good that we were able to come back to the GP series.”

Instead of returning to their training base in Canada, they will go back to Japan for the first time in five years to compete in the Japanese Nationals. Due to insurance limitations overseas, Kihara smiled and said, “I want to go to the dentist. I hope to get some maintenance done in Japan.” Miura also nodded, adding, “My wisdom teeth have been growing in, and I want to get that checked out,” as they prepare physically and mentally for Japan’s top competition.
